Lights, Camera, ACTION!
The big, awaited event is finally here! Cucalorus 17 (as in 17 years in the making!) begins tomorrow and runs until Sunday! If you haven’t noticed a surplus of people swarming our small town, you just may! Filmmakers and fans from all over have already started rolling into Wilmington, NC where the festival takes place! Films will be screening in venues including Thalian Hall Center, City Stage Theature, Jengo’s Playhouse and the Soapbox. It has truly been an honor, joy and pleasure working with the Cucalorus team and helping contribute such an important part to the event: the website and print materials. I know the Sage Island team is excited to attend the event and are counting down the hours until tomorrow’s start date! Make sure you all get your tickets today and go out and support such a great community event. See you there!
UNCW Rocket Pitch!
We are getting excited about the Student Rocket Pitch event coming up next week, Wednesday, November 16th! Mike was asked to be one of the judges this year and will certainly have a tough decision on his hands with all of the brilliant business plans. If you haven’t been to this event yet, put on by the UNCW Entrepreneurship Center, we highly recommend you attend. It’s a fun night where students pitch their entrepreneurial ideas in short 5 minute increments, competing for cash prizes. The audience has a hand in the vote via text messaging, so come help Mike decide who should win! Seats are limited so make sure you register for the Student Rocket Pitch soon. See you there!

Sage Island proudly sponsors the East Coast Wahine Championships
This year the Wahine Championships – the largest women’s surf event on the east coast, held annually in Wrightsville Beach – teamed up with Sweetwater Surf Shop, and moved the event to Columbia (“C”) Street for a weekend of unbelievable surfing in 12 categories, ranging from grom to goddess.
Beautiful weather, good surf, a big crowd and great camaraderie between the ladies made for a hugely successful event, and will surely pave the way for more growth in the future. We’d like to congratulate all who participated, Sweetwater Surf Shop whose staff helped direct the event, and the Wrightsville Beach community for showing so much support. Sage Island is a proud sponsor of the event, and of women’s surfing.

The Fuzzy Peach!
What’s more fun than delicious frozen yogurt and dozens of toppings that range from fresh kiwis to Fruity Pebbles?! Well, not much actually and that is why we are proud and honored to be a part of the young and fun Fuzzy Peach website revamp. We here at Sage Island are huge fans of this booming local business and were thrilled to have the opportunity to build a new website appropriately mimicking the fun feel of the growing company.
In addition to this colorful website that showcases mouth watering products, store photography, a list of their ever changing flavors, and of course a blog section, we also worked with the team on new cup designs (coming soon!) and cleverly witty idioms that we just know their fans will love: “Carpe di Peach” everyone!
The new site was custom designed and built in DotNetNuke with the incorporation of a WordPress blog to keep their many fans in the know. We’re getting hungry just looking at it, so check it out for yourself and go visit one of their four locations in town!
Physical Therapy for Women Launches NEW Site
Physical Therapy for Women has undergone a simple site makeover! We recently took their old site and rebuilt/updated it within a content management system (DNN). The new site mimics the old site’s navigation and structure, but now has new right pane images, rotating header images, wider design for today’s monitor resolutions and is optimized for the search engines.
