Back Story

EmpowerMe MD is a program started by doctors Matt Janik and Andy Bishop. Together, the pair have over 20 years of post-graduate education and have treated over 20,000 patients.

They wanted to use their experience and expertise to inspire patients to take their health into their own hands by empowering them to understand their diagnosis and the decisions they face in treatment. They planned to do this through education and individualization in video training modules, and approach Sage Island for help with their branding and identity. 


Health and medical issues are a big deal so it was important that the seriousness and severity of this came across in the logo design.

The logo needed to have a strong presence and be able to pop among print and digital media. Along with a powerful logo design, EmpowerMe MD needed a tagline that represented them accurately, but was catchy enough to be remembered.


An important step in the design of the logo for this client was discussing the clients wants and needs and how they’d like to be seen moving forward. The client’s desired direction is extremely important during the design process, especially with this client who was specific about the path they wanted to take.

Because of this, our team concentrated on the logo mark design, the font, and the color scheme to guarantee that the new logo truly reflected EmpowerMe MD. The color scheme was essential in this design. The slate gray blue paired with the bright red mark design was perfect. As red is commonplace among doctors and hospitals it was a bold yet obvious choice for this design. The font is clear, modern, and purely professional, which is exactly what this client is trying to convey.
