Introducing the Cave Spring High Reunion Website

by Mel Beasley

We recently completed a new site for Cave Spring High School Reunion of ’73 & ‘74, and the organizers are thrilled with its concept, style and functionality. The reunion events are an effort to gather both graduating classes on the weekend of September 20-21 this year.

The site, developed in WordPress, was created to serve as the online gathering spot for reunion related information. One of the unique features of this site is a dynamic form allowing a user to register for the directory, RSVP to the event or even do both. One of the goals was to collect information from every classmate, even if they couldn’t attend the events in September. We programmed the site’s form to allow the organizers to easily collect information and distinguish between classmates just registering to the directory and classmates attending the events. WordPress’s ease of use also allows the organizers to update classmate lists, alter registration forms as needed and add photos of event festivities.

By incorporating the familiar style and photography of the high school yearbook, we were able to create a site that reconnects classmates with fun, friendships and memories that only high school can give. The header images, colors and signatures came directly from the Class of ’73 yearbook. Go Knights!
