Prone2Paddle Making Waves at Wrightsville Beach

by Christine Hennessey

Prone2Paddle is a company that’s creating an evolutionary breakthrough in paddling. Based in Wilmington and one of Sage Island’s clients (we designed their website!) the P2P team is dedicated to providing unique and innovative board designs. Prone2Paddle has come a long way in a short amount of time, and they’ve recently gotten some great press in the local news and on the local beaches thanks to their P2P Rescue board.

The P2P Rescue board is a rescue board uniquely designed for lifeguards. Engineered for speed and stability, it allows rescuers to easily paddle both on their knees and while standing up, allowing them to reach victims faster and save precious time. According to a recent article in Lumina News, Wrightsville Beach Ocean Rescue will be the first lifeguards in the country to use this new rescue paddleboard.

“We wanted to build a board that had the volume, stability and speed that lifeguards need to quickly reach people in the water,” Cliff Ray said. “This is designed to let lifeguards raise their elevation and get a better line-of-sight. They can see so much further ahead.”

Congratulations to Cliff and the Prone2Paddle team! We can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

It's more than a message in a bottle.
