Sage Launches New Site For Cucalorus 2014
Sage Island recently unveiled the new website for the 2014 Cucalorus Film Festival. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Cucalorus, which takes place right here in Wilmington, North Carolina every November. The film festival features over 200 films, attracting filmmakers and movie buffs from all over the country. We wanted to channel the fun and quirky spirit of the festival in this year’s design. Building off of last year’s monster theme, the site features adorably hideous creatures in the footer and throughout the site (wait for it–the monsters in the footer blink! Also, see if you can spot the chicken and waffles on the home page). The new site also makes it easy for users to find what they are looking for, including a full events calendar and information about attending the festival.
In addition to a new website interface for Cucalorus, we also pitched in on marketing efforts. Our team put together a nifty design concept for the Cucalorus postcard campaign to promote the event. We really gave them something special this year, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We look forward to attending the festival this November!
Building off the success of the Cucalorus Film Festival, the 3rd-annual Surfalorus Film Festival kicks off this week, running from May 1- 3, 2014. The festival features surf films exclusively, and is sure to be an amazing mix of surfing and cinema, two things Wilmington is known for! Our creative team at Sage Island collaborated to create custom graphics for a new poster and postcard campaign to help promote the event. We hope to see you there!
