SnowSports Industries America Gets a New Look
Sage Island is pleased to announce the launch of a new and improved interface for SnowSports Industries America (SIA). This site is truly an amazing transformation. Our team began by developing the design direction, choosing the landing pages to revamp and deciding how to best move existing pages into a new template/layout. Our goal in this reskin project was two-fold: Create a design that fully brands and ties all the subsidiary SIA sites together, and streamline the DotNetNuke (DNN) templates and code, making it easier for editing moving forward.
When viewing any SIA site, especially the SIA Snow Show site and SnowSports.org, the similarities among the sites stand out more, thus creating a cohesive brand experience. Each has a mountain landscape and similar layout/footer. Throughout this project, each internal page was individually touched to ensure they transitioned from a 3-pane layout to a 2-pane layout. Call-to-action graphics and header messaging now utilize live text rather than graphics, making it even easier for SIA to update in the years to come. One of the best features we implemented is a mega menu providing a table of contents to the site’s navigational structure, rather than secondary and tertiary drop-downs.
The blog (SIA’s Latest) was reskinned and graphics repositioned in an effort to not only match the SnowSports.org redesign, but to also provide a more graphical and visual introduction to posts. In addition, we alleviated the blog’s bounce rate by not providing the full article on the landing page, but instead offering a summary with a link to the full article. Categories and Archives for the blog were reorganized to accommodate the large amount of category and archive tags. Lastly, we reskinned the SnowSports.org mobile version to match the new site’s design concept.
