1.) Click the “Start” button in the bottom left corner of your screen and then click “E-mail Microsoft Office Outlook.”
2.) Once Microsoft Outlook 2003 opens, across the top toolbar click “Tools”. A drop down menu will appear, then click “E-mail Accounts”.
3.) Once the “E-mail Accounts” window appears, place a bullet beside “View or change existing e-mail accounts”. Then click “Next” at the bottom of this window.
4.) A new window will appear titled “E-mail Accounts”. Highlight the account you wish to modify and then click the “Change…” button to the right.
5.) A new window will appear titled “E-mail Accounts”. On the right side of this window near the bottom click “More Settings …”
6.) This will bring up the final window where you will make the necessary change to send e-mail through Sage Island servers. The new window is called “Internet E-mail Settings.” Across the top tabs click “Outgoing Server.” Place a check mark in the box beside “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” then place a bullet beside the next option, “Use same settings as my incoming mail server.”
7.) Once these changes are made click “Ok”. This will take you back to the previous window named “Change E-mail Account”, click “Next” and finally “Finish.”
8.) Congratulations. All the steps required to setup SMTP Authentication for Outgoing Mail have been completed.
