Microsoft Outlook Express

1.) Click the “Start” button in the bottom left corner of your screen. Move your mouse up and over “All Programs” then a long program list will appear. Click on “Outlook Express.”

2.) Once the Outlook Express mail client opens, click on “Tools” located across the top toolbar. A drop down menu wll appear and at that time click “Accounts.”

3.) An Internet Accounts window will open. Click the “Mail” tab across the top of the Internet Accounts window. Highlight the mail account you wish to edit and click the “Properties” button to the right.

4.) A new “Properties” window will appear for the mail account selected. Across the top of this window click the “Servers” tab. Near the bottom of this dialog box are the Outgoing Mail Server settings. Place a check mark in the box beside “My server requires authentication.” Next click the “Settings” button to the right.

5.) A new dialog box will appear named “Outgoing Mail Server”. Verify that a bullet is placed beside “Use same settings as my incoming mail server.” Click “Ok”.

6.) You are now returned to the “Properties” window. Click “Apply”, then “Ok”.

7.) Finally this will take you back to the “Accounts” window, click “Close”.

8.) Congratulations. All the steps required to setup SMTP Authentication for Outgoing Mail have been completed.
